I started kicking when I was 9 years old, after my dad suggested it to me because of kicking it over the goal in soccer games. Quickly fell in love with it and found a coach to teach me. Fast forward to high school, I played in an area that does not get recruited because the level of play is low. So, I had 0 D1 offers and not even a single conversation with a D1 coach. Found a D2 school to give me a scholarship and took it. Found my way through trial and error as well as training under multiple NFL guys and my lifelong coach Brendan Cahil.
Freshmen year college: Only kicked off and did not progress much. Still figuring out how to optimize my potential and what it takes.
Sophomore year college: Did FG, XP, and Kickoff. Locked in that off season and found some success in my training. Had a great season, 7/9 FG all from 40 yards and beyond. As well as a ton of touchbacks.
Junior year college: Transferred to University of New Haven, a much better D2 school. Injury redshirt after getting my ankle badly sprained during a scrimmage.
Senior year college: Did all 3, Punt, FG, Kickoff. Figured out what worked on and off the field and got all conference in both kicking and punting that season. 40 touchbacks, 44.5 yard average on punt with 0 return yards.
Grad year: Hit the portal again seeking D1 FBS opportunities. Found a lot of interest and ended up going to Old Dominion University. Decided it was best to use my redshirt year to play in 4 games and then take over for FG/punt next season because they had their guy already. Kicked off against the teams with the best returners, Indiana, Virgina Tech, JMU, and Georgia Southern.
Going into my last year of eligibility, I am now setting my life up after football by helping other kickers and punters optimize their potential as I did myself.
